The meaning
of life.
Japanese pop star singer, songwriter Asami Izawa’s album ‘Life, was about what life is, what it means to love, and what it means to live. The lyrics encompassed high emotion and vulnerability.
I worked on all aspects from the concept, the photography and design of the album, along with promotional material to promote the release of the album.
The art direction I had for the photography was to show beauty in Asami’s lyrics and singing. Showcasing the emotion and to capture the essence of the meaning behind this album, showing her in raw vulnerable moments, juxtaposed with being in the spot light of beautiful bright bokeh lights.
“While I was working on this album, so many emotions ran through me, feelings of love and loss, it taught me what was important in my life and the people in it. My songs are all about different types of love, what it means to love, and what I am searching for in this life”.
